For curious minds ages 3–12

🧩 Helping with Grammar

Everything you need to help — without doing it for them.

🎯 What the child needs to learn: The child needs to see grammar as the rules that keep sentences tidy — not as a list to fear.

🧭 Simple explanation (for you)

Grammar is sentence manners. One cat sleeps; two cats sleep. We say "she goes" but "they go". Explain the rule with a silly example, then let the child correct sentences themselves.

✨ Example: Example: "She go to school" → "She goes to school" — because with "she" the verb takes -s.

❓ Questions to ask

  • “Does it sound right?”
  • “Who is doing the action?”
  • “What changes with "he/she/it"?”
  • “Can you fix this sentence?”

💡 Hints (not answers)

  • Read the sentence aloud
  • Change who is doing the action
  • Fix one error together, not all
  • Use the correction game

🏡 Practice activity

Fix-it game: write a sentence with one error and let your child be the grammar detective.
